Ingredients
Scale
4 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
1/4 cup white miso paste
1/4 cup pure maple syrup
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon chopped green onions (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the miso paste, maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic until smooth.
Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour the miso maple glaze over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is well coated. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
Preheat your grill or oven to 400°F (200°C). If grilling, oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.
Remove the salmon from the marinade, reserving the marinade for basting.
If grilling, place the salmon skin-side down on the grill and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side, basting with the reserved marinade. If baking, place the salmon on a lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, basting halfway through, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
Once cooked, remove the salmon from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of sriracha or red pepper flakes to the glaze.
Substitute the salmon with other fish like trout or halibut for a different flavor profile.
