A delicious fusion of lasagna and cheeseburger flavors, featuring layers of pasta, beef, cheese, and bacon.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces lasagna noodles
  • 1 jar (24 ounces) marinara sauce
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 8 slices)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  6. In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and crumbled bacon. Mix well.
  7. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom. Layer 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  8. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, then add another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of noodles topped with the remaining meat sauce.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil if desired.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add crushed red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
  • Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, and use turkey bacon for a lighter version.
