Ingredients
Scale
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 package (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1–2 fresh jalapenos, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, chives, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at the wide end of each triangle. Add a slice of jalapeno on top of the cheese mixture.
Starting from the wide end, roll the dough tightly towards the point, enclosing the filling. Pinch the edges to seal.
Place the twists on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with the beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
For a spicier version, leave some seeds in the jalapenos or add a dash of hot sauce to the cheese mixture.
Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for a unique flavor twist.
