A delicious and easy-to-make cod recipe featuring a rich lemon garlic butter sauce.

  • 1 pound cod fillets
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced and zested
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Stir in the lemon juice, lemon zest, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the cod fillets and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Pour the lemon garlic butter mixture over the seared cod fillets.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cod flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.

  • For added flavor, sprinkle some red pepper flakes over the cod before baking for a spicy kick.
  • Substitute cod with another white fish like tilapia or haddock for a different taste.
