Ingredients
Scale
8 slices sourdough bread
8 ounces sliced turkey breast
8 slices sharp cheddar cheese
8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon butter, softened
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise and Dijon mustard. Spread this mixture evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
On the unspread side of 4 slices of bread, layer the sliced turkey, crumbled bacon, and cheddar cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Top each sandwich with the remaining slices of bread, spread side up.
Spread 1 tablespoon of softened butter on the top of each sandwich.
Place the sandwiches in the preheated skillet, buttered side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until golden brown.
Carefully flip the sandwiches and spread the remaining butter on the top side. Cook for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
Notes
For a crispy texture, press down on the sandwiches with a spatula while cooking.
You can also add sliced tomatoes or avocado for extra flavor and nutrition.
For a spicy kick, try adding jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the turkey layer.
