Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground pork
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 tablespoon maple syrup (optional for sweetness)
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, salt, black pepper, sage, thyme, garlic powder, onion powder, and maple syrup (if using). Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1/2 inch thick.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. Once the oil is hot, add the sausage patties to the skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.
Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the patties are browned and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160°F).
Remove the patties from the skillet and let them rest on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess grease.
Serve warm with your favorite breakfast sides, such as eggs, toast, or pancakes.
Notes
For added flavor, consider mixing in some chopped fresh herbs like parsley or cilantro.
You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
If you prefer a spicier kick, add some crushed red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper to the mixture.
