A flavorful marinade for grilled steak that enhances the meat’s natural taste with bold ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, red wine vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and brown sugar until well combined.
  2. Stir in the minced garlic, black pepper, onion powder, oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Place your steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is well coated.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.
  5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade.
  6. Grill the steak for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness.
  7. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter marinade, add an extra tablespoon of brown sugar or honey.
  • Try adding fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for an aromatic twist.
