A flavorful and easy-to-make Ginger Garlic Chicken Thigh Bake that is perfect for any dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, black pepper, and salt. Mix well to create a marinade.
  3. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they are well coated with the marinade. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for more flavor.
  4. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the marinated chicken thighs, skin side down, and sear for about 5 minutes until the skin is golden brown.
  5. Flip the chicken thighs over and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the juices run clear.
  6. Remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the marinade.
  • Serve with steamed rice or quinoa to soak up the delicious sauce.
