Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta is a quick and delicious dish that combines succulent shrimp with a rich garlic butter sauce, served over pasta.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using), and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque.
  4. Pour in the reserved pasta water and lemon juice, stirring to combine.
  5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with additional parsley and cheese if desired.

Notes

  • For a creamier sauce, add 1/4 cup of heavy cream after adding the pasta.
  • Substitute the shrimp with chicken or vegetables like asparagus or spinach for a different twist.
