Ingredients
Scale
2 slices of sourdough bread
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly over the bread in the skillet.
Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
Remove from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve.
Notes
For a twist, add sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon inside the sandwich before grilling.
Experiment with different cheeses like cheddar or pepper jack for added flavor.
