A delicious twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich, infused with garlic and herbs for an irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 slices of thick-cut bread (such as sourdough or Texas toast)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, and salt until well combined.
  2. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top of the bread in the skillet.
  5. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  6. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown.
  7. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes inside the sandwich.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, such as gouda or pepper jack, for unique flavors.
