- 2 slices of thick-cut bread (such as sourdough or Texas toast)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 4 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic powder, dried parsley, and salt until well combined.
- Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
- Layer the cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top of the bread in the skillet.
- Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bottom slice is golden brown.
- Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes, until the other side is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove from the skillet, let it cool for a minute, then slice in half and serve warm.
Notes
- For a spicy kick, add sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes inside the sandwich.
- Experiment with different types of cheese, such as gouda or pepper jack, for unique flavors.
