Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
Gradually add beef broth, whisking constantly until smooth. Stir in Dijon mustard and Worcestershire sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the gravy for 10-15 minutes, until cooked through and heated.
Serve the meatballs with gravy over rice or mashed potatoes.
Notes
For added flavor, try using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
You can also add a splash of cream to the gravy for a richer texture.
Serve with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
