Ingredients
Scale
1 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
4 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 1/2 cups whole pecans (for topping)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix until well combined.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture, and whisk until smooth.
In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pie pan and spread it evenly.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and eggs until smooth. Pour this mixture over the brownie layer in the pie pan.
Sprinkle the whole pecans evenly on top of the pie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing. For best results, chill in the refrigerator for a couple of hours before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add 1/2 cup of chocolate chips to the brownie batter.
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
