Ingredients
Scale
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil, for frying
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions
In a shallow bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, place the beaten eggs. In a third bowl, mix panko breadcrumbs and sesame seeds together.
Dredge each chicken strip in the flour mixture, shaking off excess. Dip into the beaten eggs, then coat with the panko-sesame mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
In a large skillet, heat about 1/2 inch of vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the chicken strips in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
For the dipping sauce, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic in a small bowl until well combined.
Serve the crispy chicken strips warm with the honey soy dipping sauce on the side.
Notes
For extra crunch, try adding crushed cornflakes to the panko mixture.
Substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian option, following the same breading and frying method.
