Ingredients
Scale
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 large eggs
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 cup orange juice
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 green onion, sliced (for garnish)
Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
Dip each piece of chicken first into the flour mixture, then into the egg, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine orange juice, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, cornstarch, vegetable oil, and sesame oil. Stir until well mixed and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens. Remove from heat.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add the breaded chicken pieces in batches, frying until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
In a large bowl, toss the crispy chicken with the orange sauce until well coated.
Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
Notes
For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the orange sauce.
Substitute chicken thighs with chicken breasts for a leaner option.
