Ingredients
Scale
1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 pound sirloin steak
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup bell peppers, sliced (red, green, or yellow)
1/2 cup onion, sliced
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Season the sirloin steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced onion and bell peppers, cooking for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add the shrimp to the skillet and sprinkle with Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Slice the rested steak and serve it on a plate. Spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp mixture over the steak and garnish with chopped parsley.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce to the shrimp mixture.
Substitute the sirloin steak with chicken breast or pork chops for a different protein option.
