Ingredients
Scale
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries begin to burst, about 5 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the balsamic vinegar, cinnamon, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the glaze to thicken slightly.
Remove from heat and let cool for a few minutes before using. The glaze will thicken more as it cools.
Brush the glaze over your choice of cooked meats, such as turkey, chicken, or pork, during the last few minutes of cooking or serve it as a sauce on the side.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of hot sauce to the glaze.
You can substitute the balsamic vinegar with apple cider vinegar for a different flavor profile.
