Ingredients
Scale
1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and the cranberries start to burst, about 5-7 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, ginger, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the glaze thickens slightly.
Remove from heat and let the glaze cool for a few minutes. If desired, blend the glaze with an immersion blender for a smoother texture.
Allow the glaze to cool completely before using. It can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a splash of hot sauce to the glaze.
This glaze pairs beautifully with roasted turkey, pork, or chicken. Try it as a dipping sauce for meatballs or as a topping for a charcuterie board.
