A delicious and hearty breakfast casserole perfect for feeding a crowd.

  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups frozen hash browns, thawed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (optional)
  • 1/2 cup diced onion (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
  3. In the prepared baking dish, layer the thawed hash browns evenly across the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the hash browns, followed by the diced bell pepper and onion if using.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish.
  6. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or use spicy sausage.
