- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 pre-made pizza dough (about 16 ounces)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)
- 1 lime, cut into wedges (for serving)
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in ground beef and ground pork, cooking until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Pour in beef broth and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the mixture to thicken slightly.
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to fit your pizza pan. Place the dough on the pan.
- Spread half of the meat mixture evenly over the dough, then sprinkle with mozzarella and cheddar cheese.
- Top with the remaining meat mixture and fold the edges of the dough over to create a stuffed crust.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of cayenne pepper to the meat mixture.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option, and use low-fat cheese to reduce calories.
