Ingredients
Scale
1 pound ground beef
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound bacon (about 12 slices)
1/2 cup barbecue sauce (plus extra for serving)
1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal portions and flatten each portion into a patty.
Place about 1 tablespoon of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each patty. Fold the edges of the patty over the cheese and roll it into a ball, ensuring the cheese is fully enclosed.
Take a slice of bacon and wrap it around each beef ball, securing the ends with toothpicks if necessary.
Place the bacon-wrapped balls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each ball with barbecue sauce.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the internal temperature of the beef reaches 160°F (71°C).
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Drizzle with additional barbecue sauce and garnish with chopped green onions, if desired.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños to the beef mixture.
You can also substitute the ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
Serve with a side of coleslaw or potato salad for a complete meal.
