Ingredients
Scale
1 cup heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted and bubbling.
Add the Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika to the pan. Stir for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Slowly pour in the heavy cream, stirring constantly to combine.
Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Remove from heat and garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a few dashes of hot sauce to the sauce.
This sauce pairs well with grilled chicken, shrimp, or pasta. You can also use it as a base for a creamy Cajun pasta dish by adding cooked pasta directly to the sauce.
