A delicious and unique twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich, featuring creamy Brie cheese and fresh blueberries.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices of sourdough bread
  • 2 ounces of Brie cheese, sliced
  • 1/4 cup of fresh blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of honey (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Spread 1/2 tablespoon of butter on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in the skillet.
  4. Layer the Brie cheese on top of the bread in the skillet.
  5. Scatter the fresh blueberries over the Brie cheese.
  6. Drizzle honey over the blueberries if using, and sprinkle a pinch of salt.
  7. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side up.
  8. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until the bottom slice is golden brown.
  9. Carefully flip the sandwich and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the other side is golden and the cheese is melted.
  10. Remove from the skillet, let cool for a minute, then slice and serve.

  • For a savory twist, add a few slices of cooked bacon or a sprinkle of thyme.
  • Experiment with different types of cheese, such as goat cheese or sharp cheddar, for varied flavors.
