A delicious recipe for beef chops cooked in a savory garlic mushroom sauce, perfect for a hearty meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds beef chops (about 1-inch thick)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced (button or cremini)
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the beef chops with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the beef chops and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until browned. Remove the chops from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms, cooking for another 5 minutes until the mushrooms are tender.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine. Add the dried thyme and bring the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Return the beef chops to the skillet, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the beef is cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. Serve the beef chops topped with the garlic mushroom sauce and garnish with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a splash of red wine to the sauce before simmering.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or rice to soak up the delicious sauce.
