Ingredients
Scale
1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
1 bell pepper, sliced (any color)
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons oyster sauce
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup beef broth or water
1 teaspoon sesame oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Cooked rice or noodles for serving
Instructions
In a bowl, combine the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the garlic, ginger, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for about 2 minutes until fragrant.
Add the asparagus to the skillet and stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
Return the beef to the skillet. In a small bowl, mix the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, and sesame oil. Pour this sauce over the beef and vegetables, stirring to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through and the sauce thickens slightly.
Serve the stir-fry over cooked rice or noodles.
Notes
For a spicier kick, add red pepper flakes or sliced jalapeños during cooking.
Substitute chicken or tofu for the beef for a different protein option.
