Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, parsley, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. On a large piece of plastic wrap, shape the meat mixture into a rectangle about 1-inch thick.
  4. Place the mozzarella sticks in the center of the rectangle.
  5. Using the plastic wrap, roll the meat over the cheese to enclose it completely, forming a loaf shape.
  6. Wrap the bacon slices around the meatloaf, overlapping them slightly.
  7. Place the meatloaf seam-side down in a baking dish.
  8. In a small bowl, mix together ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, then spread it over the top of the meatloaf.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add chopped jalapeños or red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
  • You can substitute the mozzarella with cheddar or pepper jack cheese for a different flavor profile.
