Ingredients
Scale
2 cups frozen tater tots
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup green onions, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Sour cream (optional, for serving)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, cream cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
Cook the frozen tater tots according to package instructions until they are golden and crispy, usually about 20-25 minutes.
Once the tater tots are cooked, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Using a small spoon or a melon baller, carefully scoop out a small portion from the top of each tater tot to create a pocket for the filling.
Fill each tater tot pocket with the cheese and bacon mixture, pressing down gently to ensure they are filled.
Return the stuffed tater tots to the baking sheet and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve with sour cream on the side.
Notes
For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños to the cheese mixture.
Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for a unique flavor twist.
