Bacon Brown Sugar Beef is a sweet and savory dish that combines ground beef with crispy bacon and a delicious brown sugar sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 6 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and drain on paper towels, leaving the bacon fat in the skillet.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet with the bacon fat and cook over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Pour the sauce over the cooked ground beef and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Stir in the crispy bacon and remove from heat.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
  • Serve the bacon brown sugar beef over rice or in taco shells for a delicious twist.
