A delicious and refreshing dessert salad combining the flavors of apple and cinnamon with a crunchy pretzel crust.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 2 cups diced apples (about 2 medium apples)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for the apple mixture)
  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 package (3 ounces) instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to form a crust.
  4. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool completely.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  6. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully incorporated.
  7. Spread this mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
  8. In another bowl, combine diced apples, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and ground cinnamon. Stir to coat the apples evenly.
  9. In a separate bowl, whisk together the apple juice, instant vanilla pudding mix, and milk until smooth and thickened.
  10. Fold the apple mixture into the pudding mixture until well combined.
  11. Pour this over the cream cheese layer in the baking dish.
  12. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to set.
  13. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a crunchier texture, consider adding chopped nuts like walnuts or pecans to the apple mixture.
  • You can also substitute the apples with diced pears or peaches for a different flavor profile.
